Australia trip:
This year, Wei Lun had its first English-based study tour. Sixteen students from Wei Lun traveled to Sydney Australia lead by Ms. Lolo and Mr. Church for 8 days of fun. They watched a show in the world-famous Sydney Opera House, went to museums, the zoo, aquarium, the mounts and more. The trip was capped off by a full day visit to a local primary school in Sydney, the Crowne Street Public School. Students got to join in during real lessons, including cooking, gardening, PE, Math and Science.
During the study tour, students were encouraged to use their English with each other as well as with locals in Australia. The trip was not only focused on English but also on Australian culture and the environment. Visiting Bondi Beach and the Botanical Garden were two of the biggest highlights for many of the students.
It was a great learning experience for students to not only learn about Australia and to use their English, but it was also a wonderful opportunity for them to build independence. The students learned a lot about developing self-management skills and responsibility. This study tour was truly an amazing experience for our students.
